In his work ‘Witboi’, Quincy reflects on his own whiteness and the underlying structures based on colonialism and colorism. In his work he uses ‘blauwsel’, which was initially produced to whiten laundry. Quincy uses this process as a metaphor for his family’s constant need to adjust to white standards, resulting in the whitewashing of entire generations.
